The development of new technologies for anti-corrosion materials

Good sealing performance, good mechanical strength, and wear resistance are several major characteristics of fusion joint technology, which have strong adaptability.

1. Joint coating technology of three-layer polyolefin
If this joint coating is needed, the compatibility between the material and the anti-corrosion layer of the pipe body needs to be considered, which requires specialized joint coating technology. According to relevant reports, PIH company in the UK has developed a three-layer polypropylene joint coating. First, a layer of 250m thick fusion bonded epoxy powder is applied to the surface of modern pipelines, and then a layer of 200m thick polypropylene powder is applied. Note that the polypropylene powder needs to be chemically modified. Then, a 300mm wide polypropylene composite tape is attached to the relevant interface, and finally it is clamped with an extrusion clamp.
2. Joint filling technology for liquid materials
After a detailed investigation of a 370kin coal tar enamel anti-corrosion pipeline and a two-layer polyethylene anti-corrosion pipeline with a length of lOkra using r-heat shrinkable sleeve for joint repair, the results showed that the ratio of joint repair with leakage points was quite high. The joint repair rate of these two sections of anti-corruption pipeline was as high as 80%, and the severe corrosion of the pipeline was mostly due to joint failure. When using traditional single-layer materials and heat shrinkable sleeve patching technology, the most important thing is cathodic shielding, and the construction qualification rate of heat shrinkage is only 50%. This is data obtained through a large amount of survey data, and the credibility is quite high. The best way to avoid such problems is to use liquid material patching, which is a new technology developed rapidly abroad, mainly due to the gaps in polyvinyl chloride and liquid epoxy.
3. Welding joint technology

For the joint coating of two or three layers of polyethylene, this technology is to tightly adhere the jacket layer to the surface of the pipe and heat the jacket layer material with a heating element, so that the joint coating jacket and the jacket on the pipe body are compatible.
